The first phase of Huntsville’s $375 million Front Row development is set to welcome residents next month, according to online reports.
First Front Row Apartments Open July 1
The Residences at Front Row will begin welcoming residents on July 1 as the first apartment building in the mixed-use development opens in downtown Huntsville. Located across from the Von Braun Center, the building includes 313 apartment units ranging from studios to three-bedroom layouts.
In addition, developers expect the second residential building to be completed in 2027, bringing the total apartment count to 545 units.
Luxury Amenities Aim to Create Live-Work-Play Experience
Developers say Front Row was designed as a full live-work-play destination rather than a traditional apartment complex. The project includes rooftop dining, co-working spaces, a maker space, sports simulators, and two resort-style pool decks.
As a result, the development is targeting both young professionals and downsizing households looking to live in the heart of downtown Huntsville. Officials also report interest from people relocating to the area for jobs connected to Redstone Arsenal, the FBI, and U.S. Space Command.
Retail, Office Space and Public Plaza Still Ahead
Construction continues on The Plaza at Front Row, a public gathering space that will feature retail, restaurants, artwork, and outdoor amenities. Meanwhile, developers say interest from retailers and office tenants remains strong.
The project has already secured a major office tenant, and negotiations continue with a large food and beverage operator expected to occupy retail space within the development. Furthermore, leaders believe Front Row will complement future downtown projects, including planned Von Braun Center improvements and nearby pedestrian infrastructure investments.
Once complete, Front Row is expected to become one of the largest mixed-use developments in downtown Huntsville and a key part of the city’s ongoing growth.
