Honoring Generations of Hard Work
Now, as they mark their 100th anniversary, the restaurant is reflecting on the generations who have kept Big Bob’s dream alive. In a heartfelt Facebook post, they shared their gratitude for the family members who have carried on the tradition.
“Big Bob Gibson started with a passion for cooking barbecue for friends and family—a passion that has carried through five generations. Many have played a role in continuing his dream, including Catherine ‘Punk’ Gibson, her husband Coy McLemore, Carolyn and Don McLemore, Amy and Chris Lilly, and Jacob and Andrew Lilly. Countless other family members have helped preserve the traditions Big Bob started so many years ago.”
They also acknowledged the dedicated staff who have contributed to the restaurant’s success over the decades.

Of course, none of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of their customers.
