Huntsville Hospital Health System has earned national recognition as one of the top healthcare workplaces in the country.

HH Health earns two major workplace honors

According to online reports, Newsweek named Huntsville Hospital Health System one of America’s Greatest Workplaces in Health Care.

Meanwhile, Forbes recognized HH Health as one of America’s Best-in-State Employers for the sixth consecutive year.

The health system also ranked No. 2 among healthcare and social services employers in Alabama.

A major healthcare employer in the region

Huntsville Hospital Health System operates facilities across North Alabama and southern Tennessee, including locations in Huntsville, Madison, Athens, Decatur, Boaz, Guntersville, Fort Payne, Red Bay, Sheffield, Scottsboro, and Fayetteville, Tennessee.

The system employs approximately 20,000 people and operates more than 2,500 patient beds.

The recent recognition highlights the organization’s efforts to support employees while creating opportunities for career growth and professional development.

Training and career opportunities for employees

HH Health offers several programs designed to help employees advance their careers. Recent efforts include nursing compensation adjustments and an expanded partnership with Drake State Community and Technical College.

The partnership supports the RN Launch Program, which builds on an earlier program designed to help LPNs advance their careers.

Employees can also use tuition assistance and continuing education opportunities. The health system offers a nursing clinical ladder and SPARK, a job-shadowing program for employees in support roles.

Additionally, paid training programs provide entry points into careers such as patient care, pharmacy technology, surgical technology, and perioperative nursing. The system also operates an accredited School of Radiologic Technology.

What the Newsweek ranking considers

Newsweek developed its workplace ranking with Plant-A Insights Group. The evaluation considers employee feedback, public information, and workplace reviews.

Factors include leadership, compensation, work-life balance, training, and career development.

The recognition adds to Huntsville Hospital Health System’s growing list of workplace accolades and highlights its role as one of the region’s largest healthcare employers.
