Huntsville school named Alabama’s No. 1 High School by U.S. News

A Huntsville high school has claimed the top spot in Alabama, while 20 schools across the Huntsville area earned recognition in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings.

New Century Tech Demo takes No. 1 in Alabama

According to online reports, New Century Tech Demo High School ranked No. 1 among Alabama public high schools and No. 131 nationally.

The Huntsville City Schools magnet campus received a 99.27 score in the rankings. U.S. News evaluates schools using factors such as state testing results, graduation rates, and college readiness.

The school also performed especially well in AP exam participation and results. Principal Heather White highlighted the school’s 100% graduation rate and 100% college and career readiness rate.

The latest rankings include schools across Huntsville, Madison, Madison County, Limestone County, and Athens.
