Toyota adds 350 jobs at Huntsville Plant

Toyota Alabama has launched three new differential production lines at its Huntsville facility, bringing a $282 million investment and 350 new jobs to the area.

New Differential Lines Support Tacoma, Tundra, and Sequoia Trucks

The new production lines focus on differentials, which allow wheels on the same axle to rotate at different speeds for safer, smoother handling. Workers at the Huntsville plant will manufacture 30 different variations of these truck parts. The project was completed ahead of schedule, taking 18 months instead of the typical 26.

Local Leaders Praise Toyota’s Commitment

Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle, Madison County Chairman Mac McCutcheon, and District 6 Commissioner Violet Edwards attended a formal event introducing the new lines. Leaders highlighted the plant’s advanced engineering, the impact on local jobs, and Toyota employees’ contributions to community efforts, including tornado relief.

STEM and Workforce Initiatives

Toyota Alabama also recently announced up to $4.2 million in grants for Huntsville City Schools through its Driving Possibilities initiative, supporting STEM education and career pathways. The new production lines and educational investments underscore Toyota’s long-term commitment to Huntsville’s workforce and economic growth.
