The Rocket City Marathon has been a fixture in North Alabama for over 45 years. Enjoy a scenic Boston qualifying course that runs through parts of historic Huntsville, through the Space & Rocket Center, through the Botanical Gardens, and finishes inside the Von Braun Center.
Date: December 13-15, 2024
Schedule: The Rocket City 10K and Mural Run 5K will be held on December 14. The Marathon and Half-Marathons (Front Half and Back Half) will occur the next day.

Rehearsing for this weekend’s joint concert with the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra are soloists and members of the Huntsville Community Chorus. The soloists are Lady Shivers Tucker, contralto; Jeanette Scrable, soprano; Margaret Bacon, soprano and Albert Lane, baritone. The joint Christmas concert will be Saturday at 8:15 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Huntsville High School auditorium. Major works will be Bach’s, “Magnificat” and Honeggers’s Christmas Cantata.
