Mayor Tommy Battle breaks ground on The Park at Hays Farm

New Greenspace Coming to South Huntsville

Mayor Tommy Battle and city officials recently celebrated the groundbreaking of The Park at Hays Farm, a new nine-acre greenspace located at 801 Haysland Road. Construction is expected to take approximately 14 months, with a tentative opening in fall 2025.

A Versatile Park for All

“This project will provide south Huntsville residents with a versatile park for both active gatherings and peaceful retreats,” said Mayor Tommy Battle. “It’s a place everyone can enjoy.”

The park will feature a one-acre lake, a waterfall, a pavilion, family restrooms, picnic areas, and open spaces for play. There will also be walking trails, unique seating areas, and a windmill from the Hays family farm, symbolizing the park’s connection to the Hays Farm mixed-use development.

A Partnership with the Hays Family

“We are grateful to the Hays family for their partnership,” said District 3 Council Member Jennie Robinson. “Their dedication to preserving natural resources and supporting recreation has greatly enriched our community.”
