Join the 40th annual Under the Christmas Tree shopping market! This festive three-day event is the chance to shop local, get ahead of holiday shopping, and kickstart the holiday spirit. With over 120 vendors offering unique gifts, exciting raffle prizes, and special events like wreath-making and gingerbread house building, there’s something for everyone. Plus, Santa himself will be making special appearances!

STEAMfest 2024

Alabama’s largest science festival is coming to The Orion this weekend! Don’t miss out on this fun, FREE, incredible experience for all ages. The Alabama Science Festival seeks to inspire future STEAM enthusiasts for generations. Dive into the exciting worlds of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math by exploring hundreds of booths with interactive STEAM activities + FREE science goodies for all ages.

Theatre in the Elements

 

An outdoor theatre workshop at Monte Sano Nature Preserve is happening! Led by experienced educators Clark McClung and Meghan Kenny, this workshop will introduce students to the basic skills of theater and improvisation, including set design and costume-making. They’ll also explore the preserve and learn about the flora and fauna of north Alabama.

 

Date: November 2 and 9, 2024

The Ashakiran Foundation Presents: A Ray of Hope Festival

 

This event celebrates cultural diversity with performances from international dance and performance groups and offers a variety of food, including authentic Mexican, Filipino, Hong Kong, and Indian cuisine. The festival, which is free and family-friendly, also serves as a fundraiser supporting AshaKiran’s meaningful mission.
