The City of Huntsville has approved more than $322,000 in grants to support local nonprofit organizations serving low- to moderate-income residents.
Funding Supports Essential Services
The City’s Community Development Department will distribute $322,800 in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. These funds will support organizations that provide housing assistance, homelessness outreach, healthcare access, dental care, workforce training, youth programs, and recovery services.
As a result, the funding will help residents address immediate needs while building long-term stability.
Nonprofits Receiving Grant Awards
Nine nonprofit organizations will receive Community Development Block Grant funding from the City:
HATCH HSV, Inc. – $100,000
Boys & Girls Clubs of North Alabama – $50,000
First Stop, Inc. – $35,000
Community Free Dental Clinic, Inc. – $35,000
Downtown Rescue Mission, Inc. – $30,000
Christmas Charities Year Round, Inc. – $30,000
New Futures, Inc. – $17,800
Heritage Home, Inc. (His Way Recovery Center) – $15,000
ENABLE Madison County, Inc. – $10,000
Together, these organizations serve a wide range of community needs across Huntsville.

Community Development Manager Scott Erwin said the grants represent a meaningful investment in local residents. He noted that partnerships with trusted nonprofits help families overcome challenges, strengthen neighborhoods, and build brighter futures.
City leaders say the funding reflects Huntsville’s continued commitment to supporting community-based organizations that make a direct impact.
