ToggleFunding approved by city council
The Huntsville City Council recently passed nine resolutions allowing its Community Development office to oversee the distribution of these funds, which originate from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs (ADECA).
Focus on homeless support services
As part of ADECA’s 2024 ESG Program, only nonprofits that directly assist individuals experiencing homelessness were eligible to receive support. Scott Erwin, who manages Huntsville’s Community Development efforts, emphasized the City’s ongoing commitment to addressing homelessness through strong partnerships.
Local agencies delivering vital aid
“These grant dollars enable local agencies to continue providing essential help—like shelter and case management—to individuals and families facing housing insecurity,” said Erwin. “We’re grateful for the important work these organizations are doing across our community.”
