A new seafood restaurant is serving Creole-inspired dishes in Madison, taking over the former Libby’s Catfish location on Lime Quarry Road.
A new Creole restaurant in Madison
Southern Catfish and Creole is now open at 234 Lime Quarry Road, offering a menu centered on seafood, Southern flavors and Creole cuisine.
The locally owned restaurant prepares its dishes with a focus on scratch-made food and bold flavors. The menu includes several seafood options along with gumbo and other Southern favorites.

Guests can choose from dishes such as whole catfish, catfish filets and fried red snapper. Gumbo and other hearty entrees round out the menu, giving diners a range of options beyond fried seafood.
The restaurant has also received attention for its housemade hot sauce, adding another layer of flavor to its dishes.
Southern Catfish and Creole is now open
Southern Catfish and Creole is open Monday through Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. The restaurant is closed Sundays.
Located at the former Libby’s Catfish site, the new Madison restaurant gives local diners another option for seafood and Creole-inspired meals.
