Parkway Place in Huntsville is seeing continued growth in customer traffic while adding new retailers and welcoming back a familiar favorite.
Shopping traffic continues to climb
The mall, located along Memorial Parkway near Bob Wallace Avenue, has been part of the Huntsville community since 1957. Like many shopping centers, it experienced a slowdown during the pandemic as shoppers stayed home and online retail gained momentum.
Mall management says traffic has steadily improved since then, reflecting a broader return to in-person shopping. Nationally, June 2026 retail sales increased 13.65% compared with the same month in 2025, according to the CNBC/NRF Retail Monitor.
Clothing and accessories were among the categories showing the largest gains, with Parkway Place retailers such as American Eagle and Hollister serving local shoppers.
New stores are joining the lineup
Parkway Place has added several businesses during 2026, with more openings ahead.
Mountain High Outfitters is preparing to open its newest Huntsville location at the mall. The outdoor apparel and accessories retailer will have four Huntsville locations once the Parkway Place store opens, joining its Bob Wallace Avenue, Clift Farms and Bridge Street Town Centre locations.
Sole Empire has also opened at Parkway Place. The store specializes in collectible vintage sneakers and carries streetwear, designer apparel and pieces from local and regional designers.
A familiar favorite is back
Auntie Anne’s has also returned to Parkway Place after being closed for an extended period following pandemic-related closures.
The pretzel shop is located on the mall’s lower level near the elevator, bringing a familiar food stop back to the shopping center.
With customer traffic continuing to recover and additional retailers joining the mix, Parkway Place is heading into the holiday season with a growing lineup of shopping and dining options.
