Huntsville’s newest retail district is moving closer to construction later this year.
City Approves Engineering Contract
The City recently approved a contract with Schoel Engineering Company. The firm will handle engineering design and construction administration for public infrastructure improvements at the North Village Town Center, located at Memorial Parkway and State Route 255 (Northern Bypass).
The work will cover mass grading, utility installation, and roadway improvements. These upgrades are essential to support the growing retail area.
$240 Million Development Planned
The North Village Town Center project, announced last month, will cost approximately $240 million. Target and Home Depot will anchor the district, and developers plan more than 600,000 square feet of additional retail shops and restaurants.
City officials say the project will bring new shopping and dining options to North Huntsville, creating jobs and boosting the local economy.
Expanding Retail Across the Northern Bypass
In addition, the City approved the sale of 15.23 acres directly across State Route 255 to Hank Holdings LLC. Developers plan to add more retail and restaurant tenants, further enhancing the North Huntsville shopping corridor.
Officials note that these coordinated efforts are part of a long-term strategy to strengthen the area’s commercial appeal and provide convenient shopping for local residents.
