A national Italian restaurant chain has shut down its only Alabama location in Huntsville, according to online reports. The space will soon transition to a new dining concept.
Bravo! Italian Kitchen Closes Huntsville Location
Bravo! Italian Kitchen has closed its location at Bridge Street Town Centre. The restaurant opened in 2014 and operated for about a decade in the city.
The closure marks the end of its only Alabama location. The chain previously operated as part of a national casual dining brand with multiple restaurants across the country.
Financial Pressures and Industry Challenges
The closure follows financial struggles at its parent company, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2025. Earlier restructuring efforts also took place in 2020 under a previous ownership group.
Company leaders cited several pressures, including rising food and labor costs, inflation, and reduced consumer spending.
These challenges have affected many casual dining brands nationwide. As a result, several locations closed or were restructured to reduce expenses.
North Italia Takes Over the Space
A new restaurant is already set to move into the location. North Italia will open its second Alabama location in the same space.
The brand already operates in Birmingham.
North Italia focuses on scratch-made Italian dishes, including pasta, pizza, salads, and sandwiches. The company is owned by The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated and operates about 50 locations nationwide.
As a result, the Bridge Street space will remain an Italian dining destination, but with a refreshed concept. Leaders say the transition continues ongoing changes in Huntsville’s restaurant scene.
