Cupbop Korean BBQ plans to open its first Alabama restaurant in Huntsville, bringing its Korean-inspired menu to the area in November 2026.
A new Korean BBQ option
The fast-casual chain serves Korean-style meals in a convenient bowl format. Customers can choose from combinations of meat, noodles, rice, vegetables, and sauces.
Cupbop started with a food truck in Utah in 2013. Founder Junghun Song wanted to introduce Korean flavors to a wider audience through quick and affordable meals.
Since then, the brand has expanded from its original food truck concept into restaurants and other locations across the country.
What to expect at the Huntsville location
The Huntsville restaurant will open in a shopping complex near Food City. It will mark Cupbop’s first location in Alabama.
The menu focuses on customizable Korean-inspired meals. Guests can pair proteins with rice or noodles and choose from a range of sauces with different levels of heat.
For diners who like spicy food, the restaurant also offers several heat options. That range allows customers to keep their meal mild or turn up the spice.
Cupbop sets its sights on Alabama
Cupbop built its identity around making Korean cuisine approachable for diners who may be trying it for the first time. The company also puts an emphasis on fast service and affordable meals.
Now, Huntsville will become the brand’s entry point into Alabama. The restaurant currently expects to open in November 2026, giving local diners another option for Korean-inspired fast-casual food.
The new location will also add another restaurant concept to the growing dining scene around the Food City area.
