A new mixed-use development in Huntsville is now open, combining historic preservation with modern residential and commercial space.
Lewter District officially opens in Huntsville
Developers have officially opened the Lewter District following a recent ribbon-cutting event. The project introduces a mixed-use space that blends historic renovation with new construction.
In addition, the development reflects ongoing investment in Huntsville’s urban growth.
Project blends historic and modern elements
The Lewter District includes a renovated historic building tied to the former Lewter Hardware site. It also features 14 luxury townhomes and a five-story office building.
As a result, the project combines residential, commercial, and historical components within a single development.
Development supports economic growth
Local stakeholders say the project will contribute to Huntsville’s continued economic expansion. They also highlighted its role in preserving the city’s historic identity.
“I think the implementation and development of this district will only spur more economics and continue to grow the city,” said DJ Benedetto.
Developers emphasize long-term investment
Developers said Huntsville remains a key market for future projects. Therefore, they plan to continue investing in developments that support population and business growth.
Overall, the Lewter District represents another step in the city’s broader development momentum while maintaining connections to its historical roots.
