$14M ServisFirst Bank building planned

Huntsville is seeing major new construction projects downtown and across the area.

$14 Million Downtown Bank Building

Birmingham-based ServisFirst Bank is solidifying its presence in Huntsville with a new $14 million headquarters at 515 Meridian Street. Fite Construction received the building permit, while local design firm Metheny Goldmon handled the architectural plans.

The bank already operates two branches in the Rocket City, and this new downtown location will serve as a major addition to the area’s growing commercial landscape.

Other High-Value Permits

Recently, nine projects in the Huntsville/Decatur area exceeded $1 million in value. Among them are commercial buildings, residential developments, and community facilities.

Highlights include a $3 million project for Jeff Liegel S&L on Memorial Parkway, a $1.5 million Boys and Girls Club building on Abingdon Avenue, and multiple residential homes exceeding $1 million in permit value.

Statewide Construction Trends

Across Alabama, over 30 permits for projects above $1 million were issued. Cities including Auburn, Decatur, Gadsden, and Tuscaloosa reported a range of construction activity, from industrial facilities to high-end residential projects.

This surge in high-dollar permits underscores continued growth and investment in infrastructure, housing, and commercial development statewide.

These projects reflect Huntsville’s ongoing expansion and the broader momentum of major construction throughout Alabama.
