The University of Alabama in Huntsville is reporting another year of freshman enrollment growth, with 1,276 new freshmen joining the university this fall.
Alabama enrollment continues to rise
UAH reported a 10% increase in enrollment from Alabama compared with the previous year. Enrollment from Madison County also climbed 15%.
The university said the incoming freshman class is among its strongest academically in recent years, with students posting an average ACT score of 27 and an average GPA of 4.0.
Overall, new first-year undergraduate enrollment increased 4.6% for fall 2026.
Graduate enrollment also rebounds
UAH also recorded a 2.4% increase in new graduate enrollment. The growth marks the first increase in new graduate students at the university in four years.
The university now has 6,831 undergraduate students and 1,582 graduate students. Total enrollment stands at 8,413.
University officials said the enrollment gains reflect continued interest in UAH’s academic programs and the work of its faculty and staff.
UAH continues to grow in Huntsville
UAH is a public research university offering more than 100 areas of study and degree programs.
The latest enrollment numbers show continued growth at the Huntsville campus, with both undergraduate and graduate enrollment contributing to the university’s overall student population.
