United Communications is expanding its presence in North Alabama, bringing its fiber internet services and community-focused approach to the Huntsville area.
Fiber provider enters the Huntsville market
The Middle Tennessee-based company marked its expansion into Huntsville with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber on July 28.
Founded in 1947, United Communications plans to grow through its Communities division and partnerships with local developers and builders. The company says its goal is to provide reliable fiber infrastructure that supports the region’s continued growth.
As Huntsville attracts new residents, businesses, and development projects, officials say dependable internet access will remain an important part of the area’s future.
Bringing high-speed internet to growing communities
United Communications currently provides multi-gig fiber internet service to more than 130,000 customers. The company focuses on delivering fast connections, responsive customer support, and locally focused service.
Ray Baker, manager of United Communications’ Communities division, said the company has longstanding ties to the region and hopes to build lasting relationships with Huntsville-area partners.
Expanding North Alabama partnerships
The company’s growth strategy includes working with builders and developers to bring fiber connectivity to new communities throughout North Alabama.
Additionally, United Communications leaders highlighted their personal connections to Huntsville. CFO Kristin Jackson, a University of Alabama in Huntsville graduate, said she is excited to see the company become more involved in the region.
With continued population and economic growth across North Alabama, United Communications aims to become a new provider option for residents and businesses seeking reliable fiber internet service.
