Huntsville’s The Bookwyrm is hosting a special sale featuring retired priest Fr. Charles Merrill’s extensive collection of theological, historical, and literary books. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Northern Alabama St. Vincent de Paul Society.
About the Collection
Fr. Charles Merrill, who taught languages and medieval literature at the collegiate level, generously donated his personal library to The Bookwyrm. The collection, affectionately referred to as All The Boxes In The Back, will be available for browsing and purchase during the event.
Event Details and Donations
The sale will take place at 7914 Memorial Parkway SW, Suites B5 & B6. A suggested $5 donation per visitor will support St. Vincent de Paul’s work providing groceries, rent, utility assistance, and other needs in the community.
Accessibility and Ongoing Opportunities
The books will remain in boxes arranged throughout the store. Those with mobility concerns should note that navigating the boxes may be challenging, but staff will be available to assist. Even if you can’t attend this event, The Bookwyrm plans to host similar sales in the future. Visitors are also welcome to request to view select boxes during regular store hours.
