City leaders declare Veterans Week to honor those who served

Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle joined local leaders to officially proclaim November 5-11 as Veterans Week, celebrating the city’s military community. The announcement took place at the Huntsville Madison County Veterans Memorial in downtown Huntsville.

Honoring Huntsville’s veterans

The proclamation underscores the city’s gratitude for veterans who have served honorably in defense of the nation, both in times of peace and conflict. Mayor Battle emphasized Huntsville’s pride in its military heritage and encouraged residents to show their support.

City events for Veterans Week

Huntsville will host several events throughout the week, including the Hall of Heroes Dinner at the Von Braun Center, a Veterans Breakfast at The Roundhouse near the Veterans Memorial, and the city’s annual Veterans Day parade.

“Honoring our veterans is a joy and a privilege,” Mayor Battle said. “We want everyone in Huntsville to recognize the devotion and sacrifices of our service members and take part in celebrating them.”
