WellStone is bringing mental health services directly to the community with the launch of Alabama’s first mobile mental health clinic.
The “clinic on wheels” aims to help Madison County children, teens, and adults overcome barriers such as transportation and scheduling by delivering care where it’s needed most.
Expanding access to care
“We are about to embark on an exciting new chapter as we launch our first mobile health service,” said Jeremy Blair, WellStone CEO. “We cannot wait for this van to be deployed in the coming weeks to increase access to mental health care.”
The mobile unit will initially serve WellStone’s existing partners, including First Stop and the Downtown Rescue Mission, with plans to potentially expand to a second van in the future.
Community support
Funding for the mobile mental health clinic comes from Huntsville Hospital’s Community Health Initiative and additional philanthropic contributions, enabling WellStone to bring professional mental health care directly into the community.
